The 3M™ SoluPrep™ Swab is a tinted solution of 2% w/v chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Indicated for skin antisepsis prior to invasive procedures, this product helps reduce bacteria on skin to diminish the risk of surgical site infection.

 

Features and Benefits

 

The 3M™ SoluPrep™ antiseptic is intended for use in preparing the patient's skin before invasive procedures, but only on dry sites. Its purpose is to reduce bacteria that have the potential to cause skin infections. The 3M™ SoluPrep™ provides a fast initial kill of bacteria and continues to have residual activity for up to 24 hours. The antiseptic is effective against a wide range of bacteria, including both gram-positive and gram-negative types, as well as certain fungi and viruses. The 3M™ SoluPrep™ is hypoallergenic and is not easily absorbed through the skin.
