Dafilon® is a non-absorbable synthetic monofilament suture. It is made up of polyamide polymers 6/6.6 (dyed blue or undyed) or polyamide 6.6 (dyed black). The monofilament suture appears to have the lowest infection effects. For skin sutures, it exhibits less tissue drag and causes less tearing due to its smooth surfaces compared to braided multifilament sutures. Its elastic properties promotes compact and safe knotting for USP 2/0.
