Osmocol® Hydrocolloid Dressing Thin is produced from mainly carboxymethylcellulose applied to a layer of polyurethane film, producing a semi-occlusive, self-adhesive, water and bacteria proof dressing. Contact between wound exudate and the hydrocolloid layer produces a biodegradable gel, creating a moist wound environment and allowing dressing changes with minimal disturbance to newly formed tissue. It is indicated for wounds with up to moderate exudate, including pressure injuries, venous leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, skin donor sites, surgical sites and partial thickness burns.
Key Features and Benefits:
Carboxymethylcellulose on Polyurethane Film: Forms a semi-occlusive, self-adhesive dressing.
Water and Bacteria Proof: Provides a barrier layer over the wound.
Transparent: Allows the wound to be observed without removing the dressing.
Moisture Vapour Permeable: Supports management of wounds with up to moderate exudate.
Gel Formation on Contact with Exudate: Allows dressing changes with minimal disturbance to newly formed tissue.
Sterile, Single Use: Sterilised by gamma irradiation and not to be re-sterilised.
