Zetuvit® Plus Silicone Border Dressings

Zetuvit Plus Silicone Border is a self-adhesive, superabsorbent dressing for the treatment of moderately to heavily exuding, chronic and acute wounds.

Estimating how the amount of exudate in a wound will develop over time can be very challenging. While moist wounds heal 2 to 3 times faster than dry wounds, skin maceration, prolonged wound healing times and pain are just some of the factors that can result from inadequate exudate management.

Zetuvit® Plus Silicone Border absorbs exudate and retains it in the absorbent pad. It features a micro-adherent, silicone interface and borders so no additional materials are required to secure the dressing. The backing film is bacteria and showerproof. The dressing changes can be carried out atraumatically and painlessly.

• What is silicone dressing?

  Silicone dressings are dressings coated with soft silicone as an adhesive or a wound contact layer. These are designed to absorb exudate and maintain a moist wound bed to facilitate fast healing.

  The soft consistency of silicone allows for atraumatic removal of the dressing and ensures low risk of maceration.

• What is a foam dressing?

  They are highly absorbent, promote autolytic debridement, and are permeable to gases and water vapours. Foam dressings are used to provide a moist wound environment, most commonly in wounds with moderate-to-heavy exudate.

• What is wound exudate?

  Also known as drainage, exudate is a liquid produced by the body in response to tissue damage. Patients' wounds should be moist, but not overly moist.

  It's normal during the inflammatory stage of wound healing and smaller amounts is considered normal wound drainage.
